Personal development is another key topic that we will cover. As a new manager, it is important that you continue to develop your own skills and knowledge. You will learn how to identify areas for personal growth, create a personal development plan, and find resources and tools to support your ongoing development.

Finally, feedback training is an essential part of being a manager. You will learn how to provide feedback that is clear, specific, and constructive. We will discuss different approaches to feedback, including praise and recognition, corrective feedback, and performance evaluations.

By the end of this course, you will have a solid understanding of the key skills necessary to be an effective manager.

Manager Primary Two

This program builds upon the strong foundation created in the first program and then focuses on creating a high-performance environment.

The four topics that will be covered in this program are Growth Mindset, Communication, How to Interview, Productivity & Prioritization.

As in Primary One you will also have interactive sessions and role-play scenarios that mimic real-world situations.

Having a growth mindset in your team is crucial for it to become a high-performance team. We will start by going through what a growth mindset is, how to create one in your team and then how to foster the environment where it will thrive. There will be many aspects in here that will seem counter-intuitive to performance but this is the first step in that direction.

From there, we will dive into communication since this is another key aspect in any team. We will focus on difficult conversations and how to have them with the team. At some point in your management career, you will have one of these, more likely more than once. But the way you approach and handle topics like this can make a world of difference. The overall mantra we use is that there are no difficult conversations, only difficult topics.

Then, even though you already have a team in place, you will also most likely hire someone in the future. Knowing how to interview candidates is a tremendous superpower and also makes management much easier in the future. We will go through what questions to ask, what to look for in the answers and the general best set-up for the process.

Finally, we will go into the best practices and setups around productivity and prioritization. Understanding time management and the ability to prioritize tasks as well as delegate them efficiently is crucial to giving you space as a manager to develop the team. Otherwise, you will quickly find yourself underwater.

By the end of this course, you will have a solid understanding of how to build a high performance team.
